OHMYGOD, this totally just took over as my number one favorite movie of all time, knocking reefer madness out of the top slot.

    WOW.

“Our show will not look like this.”

Do you start the way you mean to go on, using misogyny as your point of humour? When in doubt, ridicule women. Nothing new or transgressive here just more of the same old sexism. At least you get it out front so we know not to bother returning.

  3. 3 Nikol

No, no. We are not misogynists. We hate everyone. Misanthropists. There is a better word.

Seriously. That is kind of out there, Sis. I am hard pressed to figure out why you would dain a show written by two very strong women and a woman-loving man to be sexist.

In this post we found a delightfully antiquated explanation of the joys of masturbation. The joke is based on the delivery of the information, not the sex of the information giver.

But I invite you to make your point (a little more clearly please, if you can muster that, because after all you are *only* a woman) as to what about MTSS you have found to be sexist so far. If there is anyone in the world we have a problem with, women don’t even come close to making the cut.

Now, people without senses of humor… Yeah, we have a problem with them.

You manage to hit two more in your response…if I had any doubt.

    Hi Sis,

I see Nikol responded a bit harshly.

Actually, thanks for the feedback! It was not our intention to add to the misogyny of the web.

A new episode will be up tomorrow. If you feel it’s misogynistic (and alas, i fear you probably will) please let us know. We will make efforts to improve our show. The intention is to use humor to poke fun at everyone and in no way single out women.

    Keep fighting the good fight!

    Dear Guy (heh)

Save your energy. I’m not intimidated by a WHOis search.

    Hi Sis,

I don’t follow. I was sincere in my previous comment

Sorry for any confusion. I really do appreciate your feedback.

  8. 8 Nikol

I want to apologize if my first comment came off as an attack, and I am quite sincere. My intent was to get a clear idea of what we had possibly done so far that could have been anti-women. I was looking for clarity.

I have to say it caught me off guard that of all the critisisms that could have been uttered, that one makes no sense. I expected a good deal of people to think that we were promoting teen sex and to think it was a problem, but I never expected (as a mother of three boys who teaches them to respect women and do their own damn dishes) to be called such a harsh name as “mysogynist.” My ultimate goal here is to help, especially girls who may end up in a lot of bad situations.

Sis, you hurt my feelings with that one initally, but as I lecture my kids all the time: Why should you be hurt if someone calls you a name and they are wrong?

    That video made me Laugh..
People with out a sense of humor…they obviously dont get the joke.

  10. 10 Jenn E

WOW. You start controversy before you even go on! That’s impressive. So, where was the mysogyny/sexism again? And why did Sis keep checking back to add more sass after the initial “thanks for letting me know I shouldn’t bother returning”?

  11. 11 kitty

That vid made my day! ^-^ I honestly don’t understand why it would be considered sexist. Is it the fact that it was the mother speaking to the son? The fact that it was a boy and not a girl pleasuring themself? If it was the father speaking to the boy, I’ll bet people would be complaining that the vid portrays that only men know about masturbation. It’s an old video that portrays popular attitudes of the time. It’s up here to be funny. Stop taking things so seriously, and look at it as the joke that it is.

Sis is just a troll. You guys are doing great work!

  13. 13 Required

I wish I could use your podcasts for the chastity lesson I’m teaching this week. Seriously.

  14. 14 E. Claire

That was… Painful. It makes me want to go out and find more old “Sex Ed” videos!

“We’ll talk about ways to control those urges when you’re a bit older…”

The only hint of sexism I see in this is the speculation that boys keep a straight face while whacking off.
    …and that they don’t move their hands…
…and that they don’t talk back to their mothers.

  15. 15 dirk gently

nothing you can say to sis.

    girls don’t get satire.

  16. 16 d

    hahaha.

sadly, i’ve seen this before you put it up here…

  17. 17 Gib

This is friggin’ hilarious. It’s painful to watch but brings insight to why my parents are who they are. Or more accurately, who they were when I was growing up before email and daily sex-spam.

Great clip. Great site. Great presentation of your material. I’ve forwarded a few of my friends (who are HS teachers) to your page.

  18. 18 Overdone

I love your podcasts. I think your approach is extremely refreshing and effective. (I’m a man so that must mean that I prefer the subtle mysogyny…) I haven’t been a teen for a few decades, but still enjoy your approach to this difficult topic. Thanks, and please keep up the great work. (Thanks, too, for the high production values you put into your work. There are many horribly produced videos - like the one you’re bringing into the 21st c. from the 19th c.)

  19. 19 Painter

    Uh…girls don\’t get sattire? Huh?

Um…you DO realize that Nikol is obviously female, right? Which means that she\’s a woman. This means that she was once a girl - and I assume you were referring to females in general, which doesn\’t make any sense at all because of my original point: that Nikol is a woman, and that she obviously gets it. So that didn\’t make any sense whatsoever.

As for the video…lmao. Yeah, like that would really happen - which is partly what makes it funny. I\’ve only just discovered your site, and I can see how it can be controversial - but it\’s funny, too. I actually saw you guys on some talk show and decided to check out the site. I like it. =)

Re some of the earlier comments: There sure are a lot of humor-challenged people in the world who know how to type :-).

This video makes me twinge at my embarrassment when my daughter was masturbating in her room with the door open as I walked by once. She was in her early teens. I just told her that she should probably close her door for privacy when she did that. I didn’t reassure her that it was perfectly ok, and probably wasn’t even smiling. I think I’d do much better now, but parents need “sex education education” before they have kids!

My wife and I watched all your shows, and we had some uneasiness with how a few things were presented, but I think overall it’s going to be useful for teens. You could get away with sneaking a few more facts in — you obviously have a deft hand at it. In the day of Google and wikipedia, all you really have to do is drop the names of things and the kids can take care of getting details (e.g., if you’re going to flash text, show words that kids might not guess correctly how to spell…). Keep up the good work!
