Broadcast TV and we’re switching servers.

Today the cast and crew of MTSS was on Fox’s The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet. Many thanks to Juliet, Mike, Stephanie, Annie, Cara, Judith, and the rest of the staff of the show! It was a great experience, and the three of us enjoyed our brief respite from the Midwest. Thanks also to our #1 MTSS FAN for giving us a proper (if all too brief) tour of her fine city.

You can watch a clip from the Morning Show here.

And Britney rocks the veneers off Dr. Debbie in the green room interview.

Due to the recent spike in site traffic, we are moving to a different server. The ability to add comments will be disabled Friday afternoon. As soon as we are switched over, commenting will be reactivated. Feel free to email Nikol@MidwestTeenSexShow.com with any comments during this time.

Thank you everyone for watching, and our next episode will be out soon!

You guys are b-r-i-l-l-i-a-n-t. Keep up the good work.

  2. 2 Tim, the Enchanter

Wow, you guys really pwned up that interview. Of course, they tried to spin it and portray you as something you’re not, which you handled well. Nicely done, all around.

I think you guys are really onto something with this… the way you present your material is a fantastic way to ‘break the ice’ between teens and their parents. It’s a great balance of content and humor.

I’m certain that I will be able to look back and tell my friends that I knew about your show “way back when, before they got famous”.

BTW, you could totally sell girl’s shirts that say “I hear you like boobs…… “

  3. 3 Albert

You guys rock! Great show, great interview.
I really like your show even though I’m not in the target audience.

    Greetings from Austria,
    Albert

I think it is sad that some people were trying to say your show is a bad thing. Even if some teens don’t get the jokes, although I think most will, it will still probably end up starting up conversations, which is really important. Besides, you show wouldn’t be the cause for random hook-ups and stuff any way, the teens who are going to do that, will do that regardless of show content, and the better educated, and the more open the lines of communication are the better.

I liked how Dr. Debbie Whatsername kept trying to say that you were encouraging kids to have sex. She made it sound like kids who weren’t already having sex would do it just because you said it was cool. What a twit.

  6. 6 Shaun

Congrats guys… you really deserve it!

  7. 7 Penguin

Wow! Excellent job of defending your quality work against that twit who calls herself a doctor of something. I’m glad that the sex educator was there as well. Your humor is consistantly, painfully, well done. Keep up the great work!

I think you know you’re doing something right if some guy on the Fox News Network accuses you of misinforming teens.

Tim, the Enchanter: just because you could sell a lot of something doesn’t mean that you should. I think it was established with the “Homosexuality is a choice” debacle that the line between funny/ironic and offensive lies in taking it out of context by printing it on a t-shirt.

First off, I found Dr. Debbie’s argument to be a bit ignorant. That or I just didn’t realize that High School students were all promiscuous sex fiends who need to find a new hookup on a nightly basis.

If not MWTSS then what? I’d rather see a teen watching an episode of yours then learning about sex from “2 girls, 1 cup” or whatever else is floating around the net.

    Keep it up guys!

I think that this show is absolutely fabulous! Not only are you trying, but you’re succeeding in promoting talk of teen sex. I mean, masturbation, relationships, sex, and everything else is in there. It’s a fantastic balance of humour and a few facts. And as you guys say, you’re not exactly experts, but you understand everything that you’re talking about. Either you have gone through it, or you will go through it, so why try to avoid it? I love the message that you are sending out.

I think that teens who watch this show are going to understand the kind of humour and understand that you guys aren’t trying to promote anything, just the discussion of everything.

    Keep up the good work!

    You guys did great!

That psychologist is a quack though. Teens having sex are not having sex because of this show, and this show is by no means the only thing they’re exposed to. For all the panic about kids watching this without their parents permission, they fail to realize that if kids have access to this, they also have access to hard core porn, the crappiest sex educator out there (and in my experience, the most prominent one as well). If this website gets teens laughing and then can direct them to places to get the serious, reliable answers they need, then it’s doing it’s job. Underestimating the intelligence, experiences, and things kids are ALREADY exposed to is a recipe for disaster.

I think a good idea for a future episode would be one that tells you where to look for good information. Specifically, to discount the crap in porn.

  12. 12 stw

    Rock On!

It was really obvious that that psychologist didn’t have any valid points at the end of the backroom clip, she really got p0wned by you and especially the sex educator, she saw the world of teens in a negatively distorted reality.

btw: I am 17 (almost 18), and I understood ALL, repeat ALL of your jokes, and english is not even my first language. Take THAT, dear Dr. Debbi [whateveryourlastnameis].

  13. 13 Lizziey

Yeah. I think that if teens are going to take the time to come to this site and watch all of the episodes, then I think they’ll understand most, if not all of the jokes, and be able to understand that it’s just a joke.
That Dr. Debbie *really* underestimated how much we teens understand. We’re not coming to this site because it’s accurate information. It’s not, and we know that. We’re coming to this site, because we like the message that you’re giving out and you put it out there in a really enjoyable way. You’re grabbing out attention, which is exactly what you want to do, no?

  14. 14 Bunk Monkey

You guys are the absolute BEST!!! I’ve recommended your site to my teenage son so he can get a better (and more sarcastic) view about sex than I can give him.

Your presentations about dating, birth control, rejection and masturbation would have been great to have 35 years ago when I was becoming sexually active (or at least trying to!!)

Dr. Judith is worth her weight in gold. I’m glad to see she stepped up to the plate and put things in perspective. Reality is a wonderful thing, especially when “experts” agree with you.

According to Dr. Debbie “Everyone in Manhattan is in therapy.” I think if they had access to the Midwest Teen Sex Show, most of them would be living happy, sexy lives. Of course, Dr. Debbie would be out of a job and would have to fall back on the only occupation that would have her….does she still have her old Barney costume???

    Thanks again!!

I think the bonus episode link is broken since the server move…

  16. 16 Guy

    Hi Edmund,

The link seems to be working fine on my end. Maybe try it again in a few minutes:

  17. 17 Marc

The moment I saw that FOX News was involved, I knew you guys were going to be misrepresented (and I think you guys knew it too, considering the pwnage you delivered.)

  18. 18 LEO

Wow, it is absolutely painful to watch Dr. Debbie Whatever speak. I wanted to stab a pencil into my ear to make the sound of her voice stop. She is exactly the kind of woman I would have completely ignored what I was a teenager, or maybe screamed in her face and then gone and done the opposite of what she was telling me. The worst was her point about how there’s no regulation on who watches MTSS. Someone should really inform her that there’s no regulations on what anyone looks at on the internet, and if some teen’s parents give even have a sh** about them, they’ll have discussions about internet usage, etc. What I’m saying is, the regulation should come from parents. If some parents don’t want their kids watching something like MTSS, that’s up to them to take care of. I refuse to be regulated by some ignorant, stodgy woman like her.

  19. 19 LEO

Uh, I mean “when” I was a teenager. Clearly I was properly educated.

  20. 20 Dave

    You guys rule.

That lady is awfully closed minded to be a shrink.

When I was in Catholic school for 2 years (7th and 8th grade) didn’t even touch on puberty, our bodies, let alone sex. It wasn’t until high school that I knew how people have sex. I used to think that you put it in and it happens like peeing.

I look forward to you next episode!!!

  21. 21 Shawn

Where are the “schools where they are switching partners every night?”

and why didn’t I get sent to one of those?

  22. 22 SubtleKnife

It’s a lot of fun to go back, re-watch the videos and check the new (and old) comments.

It just occurred to me, reading Dave’s comment about Catholic school, that it was in a Catholic primary school that I received my first official sex ed. Of course “Catholic school” doesn’t have quite the same repressive connotations over here (I do believe Rome isn’t too happy with it…)

Before that I had my parents and there was the series of age-appropriate books that they had. In fact, I can see those very same books from where I’m sitting right now!
