The New Yorker had a piece last week on the disparity between sexual attitudes of religious teens, and their actual sexual activity. Having grown up in a conservative area of the Midwest, I know that often what was preached and practiced did not coincide.

IMHO, the Conservative Propaganda used by Evangelicals to lure teenagers into virginity pledges is a serious way of child abuse.
People should get comprehensive sex ed whether they’ll have sex or not.
Why did we learn about WWII then? To start another World War?
Nooooo.
And the US has one of the highest teenage pregnancy/STD rates in the West, doesn’t it?
Absolutely.
And now we’ve gotta see why… It’s because they’re socially way more liberal and there is no such a thing as “abstinence-only sex ed” in other developed countries. Thank Gay. For example, the word for abstinence in German is “Keuchheit”, which hasn’t really been used since a few centuries. *wonders why*
