Very cool and interesting—aside from the overwhelming heteronormativity, that is.

    Heteronormativity indeed. Yeesh.

    Amen.
Like, this is like, SO heteronormative.

Yes - we know, this discussion is quite heteronormative … we have others on the site that aren’t as so. however, we believe there are loads of young adult women out there who are just learning about sex and are looking for/more comfortable with dialog that’s somewhat vanilla. Content within the empowered female sexuality realm (the un-comos arena) tends to slant towards lesbianism – which is great and necessary – but we just want to make sure straight girls are included in the conversation too. They need to know that sex isn’t penis in vagina, he comes, end of story!

You guys just have to look further into the site. There are lesbians and bisexuals too! This is just one video. All we are saying, is give Cherry a chance!

Yeah, the discussions we have are usually pretty specifically focused, and I’ve talked about my non-hetero experiences during other Cherry discussions, just not this one… If we tried to include everybody in every discussion, I think we’d end up alienating more than we included.

I think that even though parts of this specific conversation are “heteronormative” there are themes that resonate in every sexual identity community ie acceptance of your own body and your own self as a sexual being. And beyond acceptance to praise and understanding. Each person has to travel their own path to a healthy self-conciousness and to acceptance of themselves as rocking, sexy, beautiful and deserving of partners who see and treat them as such.
